On November 25, 1995, Whitney’s “Exhale (Shoop Shoop)” from the Waiting To Exhale soundtrack debuted at #1 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. It became the third #1 single to do so in history. This was Whitney’s eleventh and final #1 single on the Hot 100. Written and produced by Babyface, the song received four GRAMMY nominations and won for Best R&B Song. It won several other awards including a Soul Train Music Award.
