November 22, 1985 (37 years ago today) – “How Will I Know” was released as the third single from Whitney’s eponymous debut album. Produced by Narada Michael Walden and written by George Merrill and Shannon Rubicam, it became her second #1 single. The music video was filmed in London and won Best Female Video at the MTV Video Music Awards. Cissy Houston sang background vocals on the song and Randy Jackson (of American Idol fame) played bass. In September 2021, Clean Bandit did a remix version and an accompanying video.
