October 2, 1990 (32 years ago) – “I’m Your Baby Tonight” (written and produced by L.A. Reid & Babyface) was released as the lead single from the album of the same name. This was Whitney’s third studio album and it featured more of an R&B feel than her previous albums. The song became a worldwide hit, including reaching #1 in the U.S. on both the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts. It also received a GRAMMY nomination for Best Pop Vocal Performance, Female.
The music video was directed by Julien Temple and features Whitney appearing as several famous characters such as Marlene Dietrich, Audrey Hepburn, and The Supremes.
