On September 7, 1985 (35th Anniversary!), “Saving All My Love For You” reached #1 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. It was the second single in the U.S. from her debut album and third single worldwide. It went on to win a GRAMMY Award for Best Pop Vocal Performance, Female. (The song later topped the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Whitney’s first #1 single on that chart.)
