On July 23, 2009 (11 years ago today), Whitney’s song “I Look To You,” the title track from her seventh and final studio album, was released as a single. The song was written by R. Kelly and produced by Emanuel Kiriakou, Harvey Mason, Jr. and Tricky Stewart. The song had received favorable reviews and great word of mouth from the three listening parties that had been held in London, Los Angeles and New York. Whitney loved the song and felt is set the tone for the album. The video was shot in the New York area and was directed by Melina Matsoukas, who worked with many artists including with Beyoncé, Christina Aguilera and Rihanna and who directed her first feature film last year titled Queen and Slim.
