On January 30, 1999 “When You Believe” sung by Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey peaked at #15 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was written for the DreamWorks animated film The Prince of Egypt‘s end credits and soundtrack album. It also appeared on both Whitney’s My Love Is Your Love album as the lead single and Carey’s #1’s album. They performed the song at the 71st Academy Awards where it won for Best Original Song. Whitney and Mariah also performed the song on Oprah several months prior.
