On August 13, 1985 (35 years ago today), Whitney’s song “Saving All My Love For You” was released as a single from her debut album. Written by Michael Masser and Gerry Goffin, it had originally been recorded in 1978 by Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis, Jr. The song would go on to become a worldwide #1 (her first on the charts!) and win her a GRAMMY for Best Pop Vocal Performance, Female (her first-ever GRAMMY Award).

Whitney’s debut album has been celebrated with a new 35th anniversary 2LP boxed set featuring a 40-page hard cover book: https://whitneyhouston.lnk.to/WH35AnniversaryIN/vinylmeplease, plus new merchandise celebrating the anniversary at Whitney’s official boutique: https://whitneyhouston.lnk.to/merch.
