February 22, 1989 – Whitney opened the 31st GRAMMY Awards to a standing ovation with her performance of “One Moment In Time.” The song had been written for the 1988 Summer Olympics in South Korea and was released as the first single from the Arista compilation album titled, 1988 Summer Olympics Album: One Moment in Time. The song later appeared on her Whitney: The Greatest Hits album as well as The Ultimate Collection and I Will Always Love You: The Best of Whitney Houston.
