Twenty-six years ago today (November 28, 1992), Whitney’s iconic version of “I Will Always Love You” from The Bodyguard film reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, and as they say, “the rest is history!!!”
The song catapulted Whitney’s career and became known as her “signature song.” The single remained at the top of Billboard Hot 100 for 14 weeks (a record at that time) and topped the charts in many countries worldwide. Billboard magazine has voted it #6 on the Top 50 Love Songs Of All Time. In 1994, the song won Record of the Year at the GRAMMYs, as well as Best Pop Vocal Performance, Female for Whitney.
