People were weeping in the stands, weeping in their homes. The song itself became a top-20 pop hit. Folks called in and requested Whitney Houston’s national anthem on the radio. Whitney’s version made it all absolute, for a moment. Her head was back, as one’s can be when victorious, and as one’s can be when asking for and ecstatically receiving the glory of God.
