This week in 1990 (27 years ago), the single “I’m Your Baby Tonight” was released – it was the lead single and title track from her third studio album of the same name. The song was written and produced by L.A. Reid and Babyface and the Yvonne Turner mix was released in other countries. The song became a huge hit for Whitney, reaching the Top 10 worldwide and became her 8th number one single on the pop charts, her fourth number one on the R&B charts, and top of the Adult Contemporary chart as well, becoming her first single to top all three charts simultaneously! The video was directed by Julien Temple and had Whitney “channeling” Audrey Hepburn, Marlene Dietrich and The Supremes.
